The STI Prevention Conference offers an opportunity to connect with and learn from individuals from a wide background of disciplines and careers, as well as engage in thought-provoking conversations and discussions. To ensure the best possible experience for all attendees, the conference organizers have established basic guidelines for participation. By registering for the conference, you agree that you will abide by the following code of conduct:
Code of Conduct
- I agree that the conference should be a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of color, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion.
- I agree that I will not participate in, or tolerate, harassment or bullying of conference participants or staff.
- I agree to maintain a professional atmosphere in which diverse participants may learn, network, and participate in an environment of mutual respect.
- I agree to respect the conference’s commitment to inclusion, equity, professional treatment of ideas, and respectful treatment of all participants and staff.
- I agree that all defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, harassing or illegal behavior is strictly prohibited.
- I agree that prohibited behaviors include:
- Harassment or intimidation based on any of the protected characteristics enumerated above or protected by law.
- Sexual harassment or intimidation, including unwelcome sexual attention, stalking, or unsolicited physical contact. For example, do not hug people without consentand do not make sexual jokes.
- Abusive, lewd, or threatening conduct.
- Bullying, harassment or unprofessional conduct (e.g. shouting, interrupting) toward conference speakers, participants or staff. For example, do not ask speakers to address a topic that is unrelated to their presentation.
- Physical violence or threats of violence.
The conference organizers reserve the right to remove any participant violating this code of conduct.
